Matt, originally from California with roots in both L.A. and San Francisco, has spent the last 20 years carving out a career as a touring musician. After relocating to Nashville, he graduated as Valedictorian from the S.A.E. Institute of Technology with a degree in Music Production and Engineering.

Matt has worked alongside industry legends, apprenticing under producers and engineers such as Steve Albini (Nirvana, The Pixies, PJ Harvey), Jay Joyce (Amos Lee, Derek Trucks, Little Big Town), and Anthony Falcone (Jennifer Lopez, Skrillex, Snoop Dogg, Prince). He co-founded Record Realization, a versatile music production company, with Logan Crowell, President of H.O.M.E. Through this collaboration, Matt built a recording studio from the ground up, where he produces for Record Realization artists.

In addition to his work as a producer and engineer, Matthew creates loop libraries for top companies like PreSonus, Native Instruments, and Steinberg. He also offers freelance editing, producing, and engineering services.

Now back in the Bay Area, Matt opened Sanctuary Sound recording studio in Sebastopol, CA, from 2019 to 2024. After closing the studio, Matt primarily works out of 2200 Studios in Sausalito CA, formerly known as The Record Plant.
